Nature Park Kaunergrat

The Nature Park Project Kaunergrat (Pitztal / Kaunertal) has been in open since 1999 and was officially recognized in 2003 as "Naturpark Kaunergrat."

The Nature Park is located in the Tyrolean Oberland. It has an area of 550 km² and stretches over the districts of Landeck and Imst.

In the middle of the Ötztal Valley Alps

The centerpiece of the Nature Parks is the Kaunergrat, which gave the Nature Park its name. It separates the two neighbouring valleys, Pitztal and Kaunertal and is part of the Ötztal Valley Alp Massif.  The ice age carved landscape of the Nature Park Region extends across all levels in altitude, and offers an unbelievable diversity in natural beauty and regional unique life forms.

Connecting nature, tourism and economics with the Nature Park is a major concern. The Nature Park has a program scheduled for its guests both winter and in summer, which offers them the natural beauty and unusual features of our glacial region that can be experienced on the other side of the slopes.
